http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=26677
Troels Kirk Cannery is an HO scale premium craftsman style kit based on an original design by artist Troels Kirk. This is a versatile kit because it can be built as 2 separate buildings or combined into the diorama that you see in the photos below.
This would make an incredible waterfront scene or with your imagination who knows what you can build up!
Features of this kit include details from the following great manufacturers:
- Mount Albert Scale Lumber
- BEST trains
- Seaport Model Works
- Northeastern Scale Lumber
- Juneco
- Bluejacket Ship Crafters
- Smokey Mountain Miniautures
- Note because of supply problems the last 50 kits will have 3 (original 1 piece vertical storage tank castings) While these are slightly different than the first 50 kits, they are unique and actually easier to work with because there is no assembly required … just prime, paint and weather!)
The kit includes 10 brass etched lobster traps with lobsters, a dozen metal seagulls, 10 lobster buoys, 8 tires, 6 cleats … over 50 great details to create a tremendously authentic waterfront scene.
Instructions are in full colour and are designed so that you can follow along step by step with great weathering details for fantastic results. Templates to build loading docks and wharfs are also easy to follow for perfect results.
Don’t worry about building the stairwells … they are all laser cut and make assembly a breeze (a sea breeze!)

Skillbuilders Background Flat 1
July 19, 2009
This is a concept kit based on the idea that modelers could save a bit of time and use different materials to complete a kit with great results. This kit goes together very quickly (1 or 2 evenings) with excellent results. What also makes this kit great is the price, only $20 (shipping included!) I showed a very few building photos and material photos for you to check out.
What makes the kit go together so quickly is that you can choose coloured textured paper. I currently have ivory, green and light blue. Email me with the coloured paper you would like after you place your order.
The kit also comes with real strip wood to allow you to build a loading dock just like the pros with the same results … see the photos for reference.
Included are step by step coloured graphic instructions!
Bluewater Garage
July 18, 2009
The Bluewater Garage is a stripped down version of Phinny McGinny’s. I was asked by out local historical museum to turn the garage into a kit they could sell at their gift shop. This garage is typical of a rural garage in the 1930’s. It includes the following:
- Laser cut board & batten wood siding (plenty of strip wood for bracing is included)
- Metal detail castings representative of the prototypical Bluewater garage
- Colour signage
- Plastic windows and doors
- Full colour details instructions
- Great Weathering & Detailing tips sheet
- Colour coded strip wood to detail your garage
- Full Steam Ahead craftsmanship is included in every kit!
You can purchase this kit for $30 (includes shipping within North America)
Cannery Update
July 12, 2009
Hi All:
I just wanted to send out a quick note to let everyone know the latest kit “Troels Kirk Cannery” is almost ready for shipment. I will have the first kits ready to go by August 1st. The cost of the kit will be $125 dollars (I have to calculate shipping once I take a trip to the post office). Keep looking at the site for updates or contact me directly if you still would like to reserve your kit. I think this kit would go very well with the R.G. Shinnie Boatworks (there are on 15 of these left).
I have started to design the next kit! Keep looking for updates on the site if you are interested. I’ll give you a hint … all of the big Lebowski fans will love it!
Thanks for all of your support and encouragement.
Joe
