Big Al’s Dry Goods

January 19, 2009

Over the Christmas holidays I decided to build a couple of buildings I saw in a magizne. I only saw the backs of the buildings so the fronts required a bit of imagineering on my part. The buildings are O-scale. I named them after a customer that I wanted to do something special for. I sent them out in the new year and to his surprise they arrived on his doorstep perfectly intact.

Drop me a line and let me know what you think.

Ordering From Canada

January 18, 2009

I get quite a few questions about ordering kits and therefore I thought I would post some of the more common questions and their answers.

Are there hiddens costs when I buy a kit from Canada?
Answer: No, there are no extra costs. No extra taxes and no tariffs.

How long does it take to get a kit from Canada?
Answer: It depends on where you live.

Eastern Seaboard and Mid-West: 7 - 10 days
West Coast: 10 - 14 days

Remember Canada Post does not work on Saturdays. During busy times like the Christmas season the times maybe slightly longer.

Under the weird category; I once sent a kit to Ottawa, Ontario (about a 7 hour drive from my home and a kit to Vienna, Austria. The kit arrived in Ottawa on day 3 and the kit to Vienna arrived on day 2.) Basically it is very difficult to predict exact shipments unless I (you) pay a lot more in shipping costs.

If I order my kit today, when will you ship it?
Answer: 99% of the time I ship your order the next shipping day.

A NOTE OF WARNING:  Once you receive your kit becareful when you open it and unpack it.  A lot of modelers email me and ask how I get everything in the box.  They can never repack everything back into the box … there is that much “stuff” in the box!  Don’t believe me?  Order a kit for yourself today.
